Tourist VISA REQUIREMENTS: - |
A valid passport and visa are required to travel to this destination. Important: The Embassy of Libya in Washington, DC does not issue Tourist visas. Tourist visas are issued through the Libyan Consulate in Ottawa, Canada. |
- Passport Requirements: Two visa application forms per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
- Libyan Visa Application Form: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
- Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph(s), in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
- Letter Of Invitation from Libya: A letter of invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual)in Libya explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information.
- Special Instructions: The Embassy of Libya will not issue a visa on a passport that contains a valid or expired visa to Israel. Visas or entry may be denied for travelers if a passport contains Israeli stamps.

- Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.
- Libyan Visa Application Form: Two visa application forms per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
- Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph(s), in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
- Official Invitation from Libya: Approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Libya or system number referencing approval notification sent to the Libyan Embassy in Washington DC.
- Business Letter: Letter from employer or sponsoring company in the US, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant's employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Libya. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Libya.
- Special Instructions: The Embassy of Libya will not issue a visa on a passport that contains a valid or expired visa to Israel. Visas or entry may be denied for travelers if a passport contains Israeli stamps.
- Global Reservation Form: This is Travisa's service order form, where you will select the visa processing needed and make your payment. You must print the completed form and send it to Travisa with all other supporting documents.
